Sketch time at Magnolia Down Under

Yippee today is my first card as a DT member at Magnolia Down Under Challenges. I have to admit that I am slightly nervous and feeling pretty intimidated the level of work on this team is very high. Having said that though I am so chuffed that I was asked and am enjoying getting to know this talkative bunch of ladies.

So this week we have one of my favorite challenges, a sketch by the wonderful Kylie. It is a great sketch so I am sure you all with have no problems playing along with this one.

I have pretty much stuck to this sketch I just changed the position of the tag and flowers.

With all the hype of the upcoming royal wedding I thought that using princess Tilda would be fun sort of getting into the spirit!! I also went a bit crazy and decided that I wanted real stitching on this card and as I don't own a sewing machine I had to pull out the old needle and thread. It was actually quite nice sitting back sewing on this card although it is a tad time consuming so don't think I will be doing that too often!!!

So there you have it my first MDUC DT card...Be sure to pop over to the blog and check out the amazing work of the other ladies and if time allows stop by their personal blogs and show them so lovin.

I hope you all have a fantastic Easter and enjoy your day. We are spoilt in that we are loosing our kids for a few hours to my parents and will be able to go and enjoy an nice cuppa together.

I would like to also enter the card into the following challenges:

Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges #16

Good evening (or morning to some) I hope this post finds you all well. Today is Good Friday so I am looking forward to indulging in some hot cross buns in the morning.

This weeks challenge over at Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges is Spring Colours (pastels etc). I have to admit not one of my favorite type of challenges as I often struggle to use lots of pastel colours. Anyhow determined not to be beaten by the challenge I headed off to make my card. I tried a new technique for this card, which is colouring on Kraft. Now this is a technique is going to take lots of practice however I am happy with my first attempt. I think I need some spirits for blending my prismicolours rather than using my aqua painter. I decided in the end that the less than perfect colouring suited the style of this card which I decided was rather vintage. My hubby is convinced these new images from TPS are like something we would find in our old Golden books. Anyhow enough waffling from me....here is my card (all mine not sketch followed or influenced!)

I have mixed pastels colours with my all favorite black. Make sure you pop over to the Challenge Blog and check out the other DT members work, you will not be disappointed.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Saturday Challenges - stitching
Fussy & Fancy Friday - Card or Project for a Girl

Hope you all have a great Easter. I will be back on Sunday morning for my first Magnolia Down Under Challenges DT card.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxoxo

MAGNOLIA-licious time at Stamptacular

Hi there everyone. I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend. By the time you are reading this (scheduling the post) it will be Sunday evening and we would have had a lovely day taking the kids to the local open garden which has a mini railway and vintage cars followed by our weekly dinner and family catch up time at my mum and dads house....By now we should be home and hubby and I be sitting with a cuppa reflecting on the day.

So its time for another challenge at Stamptacular and this week our challenge is called...
“MAGNOLIA-licious!”

In honor of our April Sponsor, MAGNOLIA-licous, for this weeks challenge you will create a card or project with your favorite MAGNOLIA stamp! There are hundreds so the possibilities are endless!

So our wonderful sponsers this week are....

MAGNOLIA-licious

PRIZE: Mummy Edwin and Tilda with Jolly Roger MINIs

AND

ELISABETH BELL DIGISPRIZE:
Two digis of your choice.

I have used one of my most recent favorite Magnolia's birthday Tilda. I have tried to make this card cheerful and bright.....It is not my normal colour choice but as I mentioned previously I am trying to challenge myself a bit more and stop grabbing the same old stuff.

The paper is from Websters which I have teamed up with my good old stampin up cardstock.

Talking of stampin up my gorgeous friend Dee has recently become a Stampin Up demonstrator and taken he plunge and started up her own blog, which looks very snazzy thanks to our super talented friend Kirsty (who does a small amount of web designs in between work and running after her gorgeous family). I love Dee's cards and projects and would love for you all to drop by and show her some support. If you live locally she runs stamp & Stack classes once a fortnight at her house you can find all the details here.

Anyhow that's all I have for you today..Off now as I mentioned with my family for the day.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxox

Its time for a sketch at Tickled Pink Stamp challenges

This week at Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges there is a challenging sketch with the bonus theme of Mothers Day.

It was the perfect chance to use one of the Pinkettes. I decided to use Pippa as she is holding flowers so it suited the theme. I also made up my own sentiment, something i have been doing a lot lately. I used to be so thrown off by sentiments and never use them unless it was absolutely needed but lately I feel my card is missing something unless I do.

I was inspired by Kellie's card that she made last week having the decorative (in this case Tilda's lace) edging for the card. I just think it adds a little extra. I wanted to keep this card quite simple as it is in my mind a card that would come from a young one and therefore simple is best. I have added flower soft on the bunch of flowers to give it a bit of lift. (Slight confession I saw the flower soft about 18 months ago now and just had to have it and this would be about the second time i have actually used it, ooops!).

Anyhow I cant wait to see how you all interpret this sketch and see your gorgeous creations. Don't forget to stop by the challenge blog and admire the other DT's cards...

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo
