Yey and boy card I really like.,....

Well after having a few busy weeks with work I have had a great relaxing weekend. Friday night my sister came around and I helped her make a card (I am so impressed with it I am going to publish here on my blog soon) while colouring my image for this card. Yesterday morning we went to the shops then I came home and pumped out this card before heading off to help set up for my daughters netball club presentation night. It was a great night with the girls enjoying the DJ we hired for them and topped off with Elizabeth (my daughter) winning the Coaches award. So proud of her as she tries so hard each week and that was recognised by her coach. This morning I have been the the market with my mum and soon we are to head off to my nephews birthday party. Which brings me to......

I don't know about you but I hate making male cards. This week it is my nephews birthday so it meant that I had to face my fear head on!! Do you know what though I am over the moon with how my card came out. In fact I am very impressed with my efforts!

Ok ok I will stop bragging about my card and show it to you now....

So there it is. I better be off now as have to get going.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Its a Sketch Challenge from Lil Lolita this week

Hey there everyone. Hope this post finds you all well. Sorry for the late post but I came home from work with a splitter of a headache and have just sat down for an hour waiting for it to subside a bit before I tackled anything else.

This week over at LLB we have a sketch challenge for you, YEAH! I love sketch challenges and I am sure you will love the sketch this week:

And here is my card.

Boy did I struggle with my card this week. You know what is is like when you are trying too hard and nothing comes naturally. I think that is what happened to me as I knew I was on a tight time frame and was stressing about not getting it done. In the end though, as you can see, I did finish it and am relatively happy with it.

Anyhow I am going to go now and rest up some more before work again tomorrow. Only one more week left of working 5 days and I am counting down!! Cant wait for my first day at home where I can sit down and look at everyone cards and all the challenges.

Thanks for stopping by until next time xoxo

Ingredients:
Stamp - Lil Lolita 60's Mod Ivy coloured with copic markers
Paper - October Afternoon and Kraft cardstock
Embellishments - Lace, pearls and flowers
Other elements - distressing and some very poor hand stitching!

Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge 11

Hi there everyone hope you are all having a great week. Thank you to everyone that joined in with us last week there was so many great entries it was hard top pick our winners.

Today's post is a really quick one as time is not my friend this week! Think many of you will know what I am talking about.

Anyhow our challenge to you this week is Rose for a Rose, basically we want to see all your pretty roses, whether that be on paper, flowers or even colour inspired.

You will have to excuse my photo bit patchy but I made this card for my gorgeous friend Dee who had her birthday on Saturday. She has been an absolute blessing to me and I am so glad to have her.  I had to take a photo when it was pouring with rain as I really wanted to give her the card. Although was tempted to hold it back until I did get a good photo, LOL!

Be sure to pop by the LLB and have a look at the DT's cards this week they will blow your socks off!

Thanks for stopping by until next time xoxo

A new challenge for me.....

The last couple of weeks I have been noticing people have been using The Sweet Stop sketches and have liked the clean and straight challenges (if there such a thing but I think you may know what I mean). Anyhow this Saturday night I sat down to make a card while hubby watched the footy and thought that I would give this weeks sketch a go. I was also itching to use my super cute new Laurie (Critter Crew, The Greeting Farm, which I got from Tickled Pink Stamps). Now seeming I had to use different shades of grey for this (as it is a skunk) and I am not so good with doing this with my copics I was pleased with the end result.

Anyhow enough rambling here is the sketch

and here is my card

I love the October Afternoon papers and I thought they suited little Laurie perfectly. Now would love to stick around and chat but need to head out soon.

Thanks for stopping by it means a lot to me, until next time xoxo

Lil Lolita Challenge 9 - BLING IT

**My Kellita (Kellie's birthday hop) Blog Hop Post is below**

Oh wow what a week I have had for card making. Started off so positive on Monday and was flying along but then yesterday as I sat down to make my card for this challenge a wall went up and I could not get past it. I ended up making a card and then realised that it really did not suit this weeks challenge but in fact was perfect for next weeks. So back to the drawing board I went. I played, chopped up paper, coloured, re sized, changed directions (just about everything you can imagine) and ended up leaving it. This morning I sat down to try again and it was still not coming and I thought that I might just have to send my apologies to Kel and the girls and not participate this week. However I really hate disappointing and not doing my part so after a strong cuppa and a read of Kel's blog hop (sorry off topic but OMG how awesome are every ones cards, if you don't know what I am talking about see my post from this morning) I started again and I actually got one made, phew! Still not my favorite card in the world, think it is missing something but it certainly does have lots of BLING! More than what the photo will show.

I had so much fun colouring Lilith and even decided to try the hair strand look and have to say am pretty happy for my first attempt. You know what they say practice makes perfect.

Where's the bling you may ask, well it is on the ribbon, around the edges, on Lilith's skirt and hair bow, the boarder of the image box and the swirls are tiny rhinestones too.

Now please be sure to pop over to the LLB and check out all the super talented DT's cards. They really are amazing. Don't forget we are giving away a Lolita each week as a prize. I look forward to seeing what you do with our challenge this week.

Happy Birthday Boss Lady aka Kellie

Today is the birthday of our beautiful boss lady (aka Kellie Winnell). Happy Birthday Kel I hope you have a great day and that you get spoilt by your family and loved ones.

We are having a surprise hop for her and there is a surprise for her that she would never of guessed in a million years. I have only been on Kel's team for a short time (at Lil Lolita Boutique) but in this time I have learnt that she is a beautiful person who is very generous and of course has heaps of talent. I feel very lucky to be able to call Kel a friend.

The pink ladies, including international have joined forces with lil Lolita boutique for this fun birthday hop day!

So in the words of Kristy (AKA Princess) this is how the birthday surprise came about

"The Gorgeous Debbie had an idea and approached Christine the designer of our gorgeous Lolitas, and on the sly asked if she would design a KELLITA! Then Debbie let Kristy in on the secret and asked if she would like to help, of course Princess said yes! So together Debbie & Kristy sent pictures and ideas of what Kellita should look like....... So lets begin the hop so you can see our fabulous Kellita Birthday cards and join us in wishing Kellie a very happy birthday!"

When Debbie emailed me through Kellita I fell in love with it straight away. I had so much fund colouring her, especially the hair, being there was so much of it to colour (now how can I get hair that good in real life). Now if you know Kel you would know that she is a redhead and as such that was our only criteria, colour the hair red.

I wanted to make my card bright and cheery. The paper I had brought just before I got the stamp and I thought it fitted Kellita perfectly. I have used this months sketch from Ticked Pink Stamp Monthly Challenges as I thought it was quite fitting. The card is fairly basic (not heaps of embellishments) but I thought with the paper being quite bright and I wanted the focus to be on this awesome stamp. I did however do lots of distressing (knowing how much Kel likes it) and even managed to slide a sentiment in there.

I will stop waffling now so you can continue on with the hop. If you didn’t arrive from  Maya's  Blog then go back to the start at Debbie's blog and hop along with us.

Now of course what is a hop without prizes??? 2 lucky commenters will get the chance to win this SPECIAL EDITION KELLITA!!! All you have to do is comment on each card. The winners will be announced on Wednesday the 11th August on the Tickled Pink Blog.

Next stop on the hop is Jodie.

{Please note Kellita is a limited edition digi and is not for sale}.

Thanks for stopping by and once again Happy Birthday Kel.

Until next time xoxo

Wow another post......

Hi again. just a really quick post. After finishing my last card this afternoon I thought I would go off and do my LLB DT card for this week but instead I ended up making a card to play along with this weeks Papertake Sketch Challenge. I love Dawny's sketches and it has been too long since I have played with one of them. This card did not take long at all to make as for once I did not procrastinate and just stuck things down and went with the flow. Seeming that is how I went about it I am happy with the end result.

See how good my new light tent works you would never guess that it is freezing cold, overcast and blowing a gale where I am today.

Well that is about all I have for you today I am off to go start after school stuff.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Lili of the Valley - Challenge 58

Hey there everyone I hope this finds you all well. It is freezing here in Melbourne today so I have decided to make a few cards.

This week it is my Dad's birthday so I needed to make male birthday card. For some this may not be hard but for me it is something that I really struggle with. Surprisingly though today it was not such a battle (maybe I am just getting more used to it). Anyhow I knew that I wanted to use the current sketch from LOTV as I don't get to join in with these challenges as often as I like.

My dad is the worlds best dad (I know we all say that). He is always there for us and still happy to give his big grown up daughter a cuddle. He is very patient with me and often just laughs or rolls his eyes when I send through links for things that I have found and say "Daddy can you make this for me"! The latest project he has done for me is built me a light tent. You will see that I have not apologised for bad photo today as the it works a treat.

I am off to make a start on my card for LLB.

Stay warm until next time xoxo
