Fancy Folds at Madnolia Down Under Challenges

To see my blog candy please click here

Morning Magnolia Lovers it is Sunday which in turn means a new challenge at Magnolia Down Under. As you can see by the title this week our theme/challenge is fancy folds....

I set about doing my favorite type of fold card the gateway fold card (well at least that is what I think it is called)....with that in mind and also the thought of wanting to use some of my magnolia paper I set off on my card....Now the problem being that I was absolutely wrecked all day as I did not had much sleep (due to hubby's snoring) so it just took for ever to do. I would do a bit then leave it, come back to it and so the pattern went...End result is a mediocre card...My photo does not do it much justice either as it shows no contrast in my colouring even though I do have some...I had to take the photo pretty late in the afternoon, probably not the best conditions.

semi open

Please make sure you drop by MDUC blog as there are some amazing fancy fold cards on display and of course don't forget to join us this week if you have a chance.

Anyhow we are off the the Melbourne Show today with the kids should be fun. They cant wait to see the cows and horses.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time

I have Candy.......

Yep that is right I have some candy to give away....I am talking crafting Candy too you know...

Anyhow last week Kellie from Tickled Pink Stamps was doing a bit of stock take and decided to offer to us Pinkette's some rubber stamps for us to use as Candy on our blogs...How generous is that! Thank you Kellie I am once again blown away by your generosity.

I have been thinking and thinking of what my conditions would be and do you know what I dont have any. You see I dont normally like it when people offer Candy but they make you become a follower, I would prefer if people followed me because they like what they see not because they are forced to, does that make sense! However in saying that I would perhaps like this to get out a bit so I am going to leave it up to you as to whether or not you would like to post a pic in your sidebar or not or you may want to do a quick post letting your current followers know that I have some candy. I will not be offended if you do not.

So here is what is on offer 4 Pinkette rubber stamps from the Lil Spinks and Spooks collection by Tickled Pink Stamps.

Here is what you need to do:

  • If you like mention it on your blog and perhaps leave a pic in your sidebar
I will randomly choose a winner on the 1st November. Good Luck!

Thanks for stopping by everyone xoxo

Lil Christmas Pinkette Pippa

I'm back again with my last preview card for the Tickled Pink Stamps Lil Christmas Pinkette range and today I have Pippa to show you. I always love the Pippa images as there is something about her hair I like!

This card is using my favorite of the new Christmas papers I picked up and although they are not traditional they are not way out there either. I love the snowmen just sooo cute.

I coloured Pippa really lightly to match in with the light tones of the tag. The swirls I had sitting in my stash and I just painted them lightly with cream. I also added so smudging with the cream pain to the edges of the Tag. Very simplistic Tag but these Pinkettes are just too cute to cover up with heavy embellishments. I have also decided this year that I need to make simpler Christmas cards as I always stress out with getting them all done in time.

Now don't forgot to stop by TPS blog to see how you can win Pippa and to see the other Pinkettes that have been previewed this week and to find out when you can get your hands on some of them. I hope you have enjoyed these previews and look forward to seeing these Pinkette's pop up over blog land.

Thanks for stopping by today, until next time

New Friday Sketch Challenge

Its an exciting day today with the launch of a new sketch challenge blog called Friday Sketch Challenge. The new challenge blog has been created by Tracey....I am lucky enough to be joining this bunch of hugely talented girls.

This week the sketch has been created by Deb...I have flipped it on its side though.

I have mixed the older traditional colours with some black (my favorite colour) added some cheesecloth. I have had this Santa from Magnolia coloured up for a while now and seeming I have made such a good start on my Christmas cards this week I thought I would continue my current theme. I have also used the presents falling from Santa's sack (well at least that is the effect I was going for!) as the embellishments for the edge of the circle that was on the sketch...I finished my card by adding some smooch spritz from Stampin Up. I love how this does not soak your paper like the tattered angles glimmer mist does. They also have a few colours to choose from. If you are interested at ordering some, or even looking through the new catalogue  contact my best friend Deeanne from Deelish Designs she is a Stampin up demonstrator and has lots of great deals that she often runs on her own (separate from Stampin Up) and ribbon shares. If she gets enough interested people or requests she would have paper shares and embellishments shares too.  She is very quick to order and can even have it delivered to your house....Be sure to let her know that I have sent you her way!

Sketch #1 by Debra

I believe our challenges are going to be fortnightly so that gives you lots of time to get creating and join us. I know that we are going to be trying to get some sponsors on board soon so we can give away some prizes.

So that is all for me today thanks for stopping by, untl next time

Lil Christmas Pinkette - Faith

Hi again I am here to show you another of the new Pinkette Stamps from Tickled Pink Stamps - Lil Christmas Pinkette Faith.....

Hopefully you have been checking into Tickled Pink Stamps to see the other previews and are enjoying them as much as I am.

Once again I have chosen non traditional papers/colours for my card and even decided to go an transperancy paper for my base card. Not sure if the photo will show it too well..

I added some puff paint to under her feet to make fake snow but have to admit that perhaps I was a little heavy handed and it ended up a lot fluffier than normal...oh well..

I know I say this all the time but honestly take the time to stop by the TPS blog to check out the other creations on show and to see how you can win Faith!

Thanks for stopping by, I will be back again in a few days with another preview.

Until next time

Lil Christmas Pinkette Coraline

Good evening everyone today I am bringing you a preview card for the new Tickled Pink Stamps Pinkette range - Lil Christmas Pinkette's. The first one we have to share with you is Coraline and how cute is she?

I decided when Kellie sent through these Pinkette's that I needed non traditional Christmas papers and have to say I am really chuffed with the ones I found....Anyhow I suppose I better show you Coraline....

The colours are perhaps a little brighter than in real life but I think they match her so well. I loved colouring her dress and had fun adding in the folds... The sentiments are from Tickled Pink Stamps too.

So there you have it the first of the release...be sure to pop by Tickled Pink Stamps blog  to check out the other amazing inspiration and to find out how you could win this little cutie. Also check back each day to see the whole release. I will be back in a few days with my next preview.

Thanks for stopping by today and having a peek. Until next time

Its Sketch Time at Magnolia Down Under Challenges

Good morning Magnolia lovers! I hope you are enjoying your weekend and getting some time to craft.

This week at MDUC we have a sketch challenge for you which was designed by our very own Karen.

I have tried to stick the the sketch as much as possible but I dont have any banner dies or banners so could not add that element. My card is a good example of how you can interpret it.

So here is my card:

My photo is a little dull but I only got a chance to make the card last night so I had no natural light to take a picture in. If I get a chance (or remember) I may take another today..

and here is the sketch

Hubby is off to golf today so I am having a home day with the kids. Hopefully some crafting will be had! We have had a really busy week with my kids school production, which was very cute, and lots of other activities so I think a day at home resting will do us all good.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Make it Colourful - Purple (I have used V99, V95, V93 & V91 my fav combination)
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Simply Magnolia -Anything Goes
Stamp Something - Anything Goes- this is the last challenge at Stamp Something so sad to see it go.

Thank you for stopping by today. Please dont forget to stop by MDUC to see the other DT examples, you will not be disappointed.

Have a great day. Until next time
