Sketch from Magnolia Down Under

This weeks challenge over at magnolia Down Under is a Sketch. As soon as I saw it I just knew that I had to give it a go. I picked up some Basic Grey paper from Maxine's last week so I was keen to use this as well, so off I went with my paper and sketch in hand and this is what I came up with.

I am actually going to say, without sounding too modest, I love how this card came out. I know the colours are a bit dark but I think with the flowers and extra added elements and it all ties together well and it is not too gloomy.

I am also going to enter this into the following challenges:

Craft Us Crazy - Anything Goes

Sorry just a quick post from me today things to get done....

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Ingredients:
Stamp - Sneaky Tilda from Magnolia
Coloured with - copics
Embellishments - Tilda's lace die, flourish die from Magnolia, flowers, lace ribbon, pearls and ribbon

Tickled Pink = Birthday Wishes Challenge

Howdy I hope this finds you all well.

This week at Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges the challenge is Birthday Wishes. It was the purfect excuse for me to colour up Mollie Mittens with Balloon. She is so adorable and I had so much fun colouring her up. I decided to reprint the balloon and stamp on a birthday sentiment which just happened to fit perfectly and then 3D it.

The papers I have used I have had laying around in my stash for ages but I just never seemed to have used them so wanting to feel bright and cheerful I decided to use them.

I was very pleased with myself as the card has no black on it. I have noticed that lately a lot of my cards have black on it somewhere (I just love black as it can bring everything together) so I resisted and stayed away from it. I am pleased with the result as this card will be great for a young girls birthday.

I am also entering the card into the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Hearts and Flowers
Paper Sundaes - Sundae Toppings - Lace, Flower and Pink
Paperplay Challenges - Hearts & Flowers....but not valentine
Papertake Weekly - Have a heart

Well I better be going now as I need to continue with my chores!

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

A card from my daughter

**I have edited this to include a photo of her****

Hi there everyone

This is just a quick post to show you my daughters Elizabeth's card.

Elizabeth is 8 years old and loves watching me make my cards. She is one of my biggest fans and will always tell me if she likes what I am doing. She is secretly hoping that she will get some copic markers for her birthday, never to young to start I say!

A few weeks ago when visiting Maxine's she picked up a crafting magazine which had a free stamp set on it. Yesterday she got the stamp set out and made a card for her cousin's birthday. Of course she may have had a little help from me cutting her papers to make sure that they were straight but other than that she used an old card I made (as in layout) as her guidance and off she went. I am very proud of her card (the first using a stamp but not her first card) and much to her delight have decided to share it on my blog. I know she would love it is some people left her some comments, hint!!!!

Thank you for taking this time to look and her card and to anyone who leaves a comment thanks for taking the time to do so.

Until next time xoxo

I think my MOJO is slowly creeping back

I was on such a good roll the other week with my cards making lots and really enjoying them then all the sudden my mojo disappeared and I came to a complete stop! I LOVE making cards but for some reason the last week I have had no desire to go make cards, now whether this was because I was not feeling too great over the week, had some very distressing news about my Oma and also was out of sorts with the kids going back to school I am not sure. However on Wednesday it was slowly creeping back and I managed to colour up my new magnolia and by yesterday I managed to make her into a card! It is my gorgeous niece's birthday tomorrow so I had the perfect reason to make a card using my new stamp.

I have made my card using this weeks sketch from Friday Sketchers and added some dimension, something I have not been doing a lot of lately my cards have not been layered up in height (I used to always do this) here is a side pic to give you a better idea...

I am also entering this card into this weeks challenge at Make It Colourful which is a colouring challenge, using shadows and depth in you colouring. I think I have managed this.

I resisted the urge to use my Webster papers and went back to some old favorites my October Afternoon papers. I just felt that they suited the image well and as my card is for a 5 year old I wanted it to have a younger feel to it. Anyhow she loved her card to mission achieved!

I am also entering this into the following challenges:

Magnolia stamp lovers - glitter ( the balloon is but the photo does not really show it)
Craft us crazy - anything goes

Robbie's at a party at the pool at the moment and Mick and Lizzie have gone along so they could have a swim so I have a few hours up my sleeve, wonder if my MOJO will allow me to make a start on another card? Time will tell I imagine.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Tickled Pink goes Vintage

This weeks challenge at Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges is Vintage, easy right? Well apparently not!! I started off yesterday making a card which I have finished but am too ashamed to show you!!!! Even my husband, who is normally my biggest number 1 fan, mentioned that it was not bad but not brilliant either!

So today after being shopping with the kids and pottering around the house for a while I thought bugger this I am not going to let this challenge get the better of me! I sat down and this card ended up coming together quite quickly.

I used Emma's fab tut from the Tickled Pink Blog on how to make fabric roses and made one out of lace ribbon. I am quite chuffed with it and thinks that it suits the theme of the card well. I think the rest of the card is fairly self explanatory.

When I first saw Luca I immediately thought Edward from Twilight but now I am reading The Vampire Academy I thing Dimitri!!!! ummm If only I could have him guarding me 24/7.....Maybe I should stop obsessing over vampires!

Tuesday throwdown - stitching
