Tickled Pink Challenges #17

Today is my last challenge as a guest DT at Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges. I have had so much fun joining in with these challenges and am sad to be finishing. However in saying that I can now start entering the challenges again so that's a bonus LOL!

So this week our challenge to you is to use some lace and pearls. easy hey?

I picked up these Graphic 46 papers the other day and have been hanging out use them so this was the perfect opportunity. In saying that though today I really struggled getting that vintage look and feel that my card is missing something? Not sure what but just look at it and think it looks incomplete but no matter what I try to add it does not look right either. Oh well......

I am also entering this into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp & Show - Buttons (I hope my one counts)
Tip Top Tuesday - Square Cards
Paper Sundaes - Toppings - peals and die cuts.

Now be sure to pop over to the challenge blog and take a peek at what the ladies have made, you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time

Swinging Edwin

So i have a confession, I brought this stamp for myself for Christmas and coloured it up shortly after only to find that every time I have gone to use it the papers have been wrong or I just could not do anything with it. So the other day I sat down and had another play with it and can honestly say that I am happy with how it came out. Being a boy card it is quite plain but I think that having all the layers of cardstock etc make up for the lack of embellishments. I also used a chipboard border thingy that I have had in my draw for about a year now and just coloured it up in red then printed up my sentiment and stuck it behind.

So there it is. Hopefully you like it!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Simon Say Stamps - Anything Goes
Fab & Funky - Red White & Blue
Bunny Zoe - one for hte boys
Craft your passion - layers

Thanks for stopping by, until next time

A Big Thank You to my super talented friend Kirsty......

Since I started blogging my girlfriend Kirsty has been offering to do a custom blog for me. I have always resisted as the urge to take her up on the offer as she is a super busy mum & works just about full time. However recently I have been trying to snazzy up my blog but could not find anything on the freebie sites that were just right (they were not bad just not exactly what I wanted). I was talking to Kirsty about it last week and she once again offered me so I went home and had a think about it....I had a play around and loaded some of the freebie stuff that is out there (as a guide) and then gladly accepted her offer. So this weekend she has been a busy lady and making my blog and look what she came up with. It is everything I could of wanted and then some more. So to Kirsty

You are a super talented lady who is so generous, I am so lucky to have a friend like you....

Sketch time at Magnolia Down Under

Yippee today is my first card as a DT member at Magnolia Down Under Challenges. I have to admit that I am slightly nervous and feeling pretty intimidated the level of work on this team is very high. Having said that though I am so chuffed that I was asked and am enjoying getting to know this talkative bunch of ladies.

So this week we have one of my favorite challenges, a sketch by the wonderful Kylie. It is a great sketch so I am sure you all with have no problems playing along with this one.

I have pretty much stuck to this sketch I just changed the position of the tag and flowers.

With all the hype of the upcoming royal wedding I thought that using princess Tilda would be fun sort of getting into the spirit!! I also went a bit crazy and decided that I wanted real stitching on this card and as I don't own a sewing machine I had to pull out the old needle and thread. It was actually quite nice sitting back sewing on this card although it is a tad time consuming so don't think I will be doing that too often!!!

So there you have it my first MDUC DT card...Be sure to pop over to the blog and check out the amazing work of the other ladies and if time allows stop by their personal blogs and show them so lovin.

I hope you all have a fantastic Easter and enjoy your day. We are spoilt in that we are loosing our kids for a few hours to my parents and will be able to go and enjoy an nice cuppa together.

I would like to also enter the card into the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges #16

Good evening (or morning to some) I hope this post finds you all well. Today is Good Friday so I am looking forward to indulging in some hot cross buns in the morning.

This weeks challenge over at Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges is Spring Colours (pastels etc). I have to admit not one of my favorite type of challenges as I often struggle to use lots of pastel colours. Anyhow determined not to be beaten by the challenge I headed off to make my card. I tried a new technique for this card, which is colouring on Kraft. Now this is a technique is going to take lots of practice however I am happy with my first attempt. I think I need some spirits for blending my prismicolours rather than using my aqua painter. I decided in the end that the less than perfect colouring suited the style of this card which I decided was rather vintage. My hubby is convinced these new images from TPS are like something we would find in our old Golden books. Anyhow enough waffling from me....here is my card (all mine not sketch followed or influenced!)

I have mixed pastels colours with my all favorite black. Make sure you pop over to the Challenge Blog and check out the other DT members work, you will not be disappointed.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Saturday Challenges - stitching
Fussy & Fancy Friday - Card or Project for a Girl

Hope you all have a great Easter. I will be back on Sunday morning for my first Magnolia Down Under Challenges DT card.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxoxo

Stamp - August from Tickled Pink Stamps
Coloured using aqua painter and prismicolour pencils

MAGNOLIA-licious time at Stamptacular

Hi there everyone. I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend. By the time you are reading this (scheduling the post) it will be Sunday evening and we would have had a lovely day taking the kids to the local open garden which has a mini railway and vintage cars followed by our weekly dinner and family catch up time at my mum and dads house....By now we should be home and hubby and I be sitting with a cuppa reflecting on the day.

So its time for another challenge at Stamptacular and this week our challenge is called...
“MAGNOLIA-licious!”

In honor of our April Sponsor, MAGNOLIA-licous, for this weeks challenge you will create a card or project with your favorite MAGNOLIA stamp! There are hundreds so the possibilities are endless!

So our wonderful sponsers this week are....

MAGNOLIA-licious

PRIZE: Mummy Edwin and Tilda with Jolly Roger MINIs

AND

ELISABETH BELL DIGISPRIZE:
Two digis of your choice.

I have used one of my most recent favorite Magnolia's birthday Tilda. I have tried to make this card cheerful and bright.....It is not my normal colour choice but as I mentioned previously I am trying to challenge myself a bit more and stop grabbing the same old stuff.

The paper is from Websters which I have teamed up with my good old stampin up cardstock.

Talking of stampin up my gorgeous friend Dee has recently become a Stampin Up demonstrator and taken he plunge and started up her own blog, which looks very snazzy thanks to our super talented friend Kirsty (who does a small amount of web designs in between work and running after her gorgeous family). I love Dee's cards and projects and would love for you all to drop by and show her some support. If you live locally she runs stamp & Stack classes once a fortnight at her house you can find all the details here.

Anyhow that's all I have for you today..Off now as I mentioned with my family for the day.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxox

Its time for a sketch at Tickled Pink Stamp challenges

This week at Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges there is a challenging sketch with the bonus theme of Mothers Day.

It was the perfect chance to use one of the Pinkettes. I decided to use Pippa as she is holding flowers so it suited the theme. I also made up my own sentiment, something i have been doing a lot lately. I used to be so thrown off by sentiments and never use them unless it was absolutely needed but lately I feel my card is missing something unless I do.

I was inspired by Kellie's card that she made last week having the decorative (in this case Tilda's lace) edging for the card. I just think it adds a little extra. I wanted to keep this card quite simple as it is in my mind a card that would come from a young one and therefore simple is best. I have added flower soft on the bunch of flowers to give it a bit of lift. (Slight confession I saw the flower soft about 18 months ago now and just had to have it and this would be about the second time i have actually used it, ooops!).

Anyhow I cant wait to see how you all interpret this sketch and see your gorgeous creations. Don't forget to stop by the challenge blog and admire the other DT's cards...

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

ingredients:
Stamp - Pippa from Tickled Pink Stamps - Lil Pinkettes collections
Coloured using copic markers
papers - from spotlight (sorry cant remember name and have now thrown it out)
embellishments - peals, twine, button and flower soft
other elements - Tilda's lace die used for edging, paper piercing and faux stitching

Robbie's Birthday Card Take 2

If you read my post the other day showing Robbie birthday card you would remember by doubts that I had about it being too old for him.....well those doubts kept niggling at me and then my husband said its an ace card but not really suitable for him, its a bit dark....So off I went all frazzled to make a new birthday card.

I used the funky image from Tickled Pink Stamps - Lil Lad Stefan, picked some bright coloured papers and threw it all together. All in all (seeming I did not have the luxury of time to procrastinate over what do do) I am happy with it. Most importantly he thought it was cool!

He had such a fun day yesterday...I still cant believe he has turned 7.

Anyhow I am also entering this into this months challenge at Mad For Markers - using colours from YR, BG and RV. Now as this was a boys card I did struggle to use colours from the RV family but have used BG15, BG34, BG11 & BG10 together with R08, R05 & R02 for the surfboard. I also used the BG's for his shorts and top. I only have one YR copic and I used this with my browns in his hair.

Anyhow that it for me today, until next time xoxox

My little man's birthday card

My little man, Robbie, is turning 7 on Wednesday. I cant believe how quick time actually goes. He is such a great kid, with bounds and bounds of energy and the softest heart around. He has a lot of compassion and can be very thoughtful of others I am already so proud of him. I can see so many beautiful traits in him and just know that as he grows into a man I know that I will continue to be proud of....Awww enough of the soppy stuff, LOL!!!!

He actually has requested a card from me using Pirate Frankie but as I sat down to make one today I had a block and could not get anything to work. He really loves playing his guitar and listening to music so I thought a card using the super cool Lil Damon (which you can get in digi form for a little longer at Tickled Pink Stamps) would be perfect for him. Thank you Kel for processing my order so quickly this morning to enable me to get my card made today, you are the best. In hindsight the card may be a little old (as in style) for him but I think he will love it anyhow.

The layout is my own and I have to say I quite like it. The paper is from Bo Bunny ( I am loving these papers more and more) and think I may have to go get some more as it is perfect for the male card.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Creative Inspirations - One for the Men
Stamp Something - Digi images

Anyhow I better dash still lots to do. Thanks for stopping by....

Until next time xoxox

Ingredients
Digi stamp - Lil Damon from Tickled Pink Stamps
Coloured using my copics
Paper - Bo Bunny
Embellishments - Pearls and ribbon
Other elements - inking of edges, paper piercing and distressing.

One just for fun.....

It has been a few weeks but last night I sat down and made a card for just the fun of it.

I picked the papers i used today up from Spotlight out of all places the other week and have been hanging out to use them. Once again like my last card they are not my normal colours but they are a bit richer in colour which is what I like so all in all I am happy with how the colours have come out.

I am using the sketch from this weeks challenge over at Simon Says. It is a great sketch and as soon as I saw it I just knew that I had to use it.  Anyhow enough waffling here is my card...

Did you notice? no black again!! It would have to be a record for me!! The papers are very pretty, in fact think I may have to go back and get some more. It also went perfect,  the green was an exact match, for mellow moss from Stampin Up.

I love Whiff of Joy stamps and think this one is so cute. Colouring Elizabeth Bell images are so much fun.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Bunny Zoe Crafts - Birthday creations with lots of Pearls
The Shabby Tea Room - inspiration (i choose the green colour) plus flowers
Lets Ink it Up - die cuts/punches ( i have used my tildas lace die for the border around the purple paper and spellbinders for the scallop oval)
The ABC Challenge - R is for Roses (I have used roses in my flowers and the purple bit of patterned paper has roses on it)

So there you have it. I can slowly feeling my mojo creeping back in after been out of it for so long with being sick. Hopefully I will be back soon with some more to show you.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

We want to see you Bling it Up at Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges

Hi there, I hope this post finds all well. It has been a while since I last posted but I have still not been 100% and have been putting all my crafting efforts into getting my DT cards ready. I don't to start off behind the eight ball.

Today is my first post as guest DT at Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges (yippee!). I am so excited to be part of this wonderful team for a month and having the opportunity to play with these funky stamps.

This week we want to see you all adding some bling to your projects. Easy right?!

I decided to use my Kira Fairy for this challenge as i associate fairies with glitter and bling. The papers I have used are a lot softer than normal for me. It feels a bit wishy washy for me but according to my daughter (my toughest critic) the card is just beautiful mum and can I have one like this for my birthday! I have also tried to give the illusion that she is bending down reaching out to the butterfly. Anyhow there is lots of bling on my card, pink and silver rhinestones, hat pin with bling on the ribbon, glittered wings......

Anyhow that is all from me today. I will be back on Sunday evening with my very first card for the Stamptacular Challenges blog.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxox
