Hello I hope you are all well. Not much has been happening in my household since I last posted except that my new stamps arrived from Scotland!! This was very exciting for me as I had been watching the mail box in anticipation for the last few days. The stamps appeared to have come at the right time as this week The Sugar Bowl Sketch requires a Christmas theme. Here is a copy of the sketch:
When I first looked at the sketch I was thrown and thought it looked harder than what it was. I was almost not going to do it, but as the abovementioned stamps arrived, and I wanted to play with them, I decided to give it a whirl. Now all I can say is that I am so happy that I pushed myself to do this challenge as this would be one of my most favorite cards I have made in a long time.
The Santa was on my maybe list to purchase but after showing my mum and sister Sarah, I don’t think I had any choice. They both fell in love with the stamps and I think for the first time could understand my obsession!
Now for details of the card. The Section with the image has been mounted on foam tape but you do not get the gist of that with the photo. The Merry Christmas sentiment and flowers are also at the same height as the Santa panel. The Cardstock is all Stampin Up of course as well as the Christmas sentiment which came from one of this years level 1 hostess sets. The Santa himself is from the Homegrown category from the Sugar Nellie Range which you can purchase from Funky Kits. The flowers I picked up from Maxine’s (picture2page) yesterday and were one of those purchases that you say to yourself “I absolutely love them and have to have them even though I have no idea when I will actually use them”! The patterned paper is from the Figgy Pudding range by BasicGrey which I have had laying around since last Christmas, being one of those such purchases just mentioned!!
So there you have it I hope you have enjoyed looking and I will be back again soon with some more for you.
Until next time xoxo
LOVE IT! You've inspired me to give the layout a go.
