My last Christmas card done......

My last Christmas Card has now been completed and I have to say that I had a big sigh of relief. I love the start of the season when you get the new stamps and papers but then the obligation starts to set in and the fun of it goes out the window! I nearly buckled halfway through and brought some shop cards but felt guilty as everyone I send cards too know that I make them, so I kept going!

I have forgotten how hard it is to make cards when the kids are around. I am used to having peace while I create listening to my music but today with the kids home on holidays it was a rude reminder of what my crafting time used to be like!!! It is not that they were naughty but kids are demanding on your time so my card ended up taking quite a few hours to make, LOL!

I have used the sketch over at Tickled Pink Monthly Challenges as I had to join in on the last challenge there. Have to admit cant wait to see what the new weekly challenges will bring us in the new year.

I also had this tartan paper from the Joyval collection and really did want to use it so that combined with my sketch is what I set off with and this is what I came up with:

My card was also inspired by one of the DT cards that I saw a few weeks ago at Just Magnolia. I helped me to used these papers!

I am going to take a few weeks break from crafting from today. I have even cleaned off the desk so I am not tempted to sit down and make some more. I need to spend some time with the kiddies and with christmas this week and with Mick being home on holidays next week I have decided that now was a good time for a break. Hopefully it will mean that I will come back in the new year feeling re energised and ready to go.

To everyone that has popped past my blog this year and left such supportive comments THANK YOU! It has been such a great year in the world of blogging for me as I have met lots of wonderful ladies and had so many great opportunities.

Merry Christmas to you all. Wishing you and your families good times, good cheer and a FANTASTIC new year!!!

Until next time xoxo

Monday, 13 December 2010

I'm still here just been busy.,.

I think like so many of us at the moment there us just not enough time in the day to get everything done in preparation of the Christmas holidays. We are on our last week of school here and then the kids are off till the 4th February. Scary!!! I have been busy creating over the last few weeks I have just not had time to share. I was determined though that once i had finished work today I was coming home to do a post to show this card I have made. This is one of my favorites so far this season, I think it is because I just sat down and did it without thinking too hard about it and just enjoyed what I was doing.

There is glitter on the edges of the paper, but as usual my photo does not show it. How I have loved using my Magnolia Christmas stamps this year they are just darn cute.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Just Magnolia - Christmas Card
Mad for Markers - Anything Goes

I hope to be back soon with some more posts for you all.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Magnolia Christmas Card

I know the heading is really boring but for the life of me could not think of anything better!

Today I was feeling very unmotivated but with the pressure of getting some Chrissie cards done I decided to break through the barrier. I nearly did give up until I remembered that Magnolia Down Under Challenges had a sketch this week and then I felt all motivated.

I brought this Webster paper a few weeks back and having been itching to use it but have been scared to as it is black which is not a colour you normally associate with Christmas but I decided to use it anyhow. I am glad that as I like the result and I dont think it looks to gloomy.

I love Magnolia Down Under challenges and will be trying to get there a lot more often now that my love of magnolias has been reignited!

I will also be entering this into the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly - cut it out ( my image is cut out)
Totally  Gorjus - non traditional christmas
Mad for Markers - non traditional christmas

That's all for you today. Off to do the washing now. Until next time xoxo

Its Christmas time at Lil Lolita Boutique

Well another week has passed and with that comes another challenge. This week to help everyone along with their christmas creations the challenge is Anything goes for Christmas. I did have lots of fun making them though as it was something different.

It is needless to say, quite hard to get a good photo of the tags but my photo still shows them all.

Don't forget to stop by LLB and check out all the amazing cards done by all the lovely ladies.

I gota dash now need to get dinner going and readers etc done with the kids.

Christmas Lilith Preview comined with Lil Lolita Pink Christmas

Welcome to another preview for Tickled Pink Lil Christmas range. Today we are bringing you Lilith and isn't she cute? Now if you have been playing attention you would of noticed her on the Tickled Pink Blog banner of the last few days.

I am combining this with this weeks challenge over at Lil Lolita Boutique which is pink Christmas. Now I decided to make a circle card as it came to me a few days ago that if I kept making big cards it was going to cost me a FORTUNE to send them overseas to all our relos (we a few to send) so why my last couple of cards have been smaller and not too heavily embellished.

I have used puffed pain on her hat and skirt trimmings but the photo does not show that too well.

Now of course this would not be a Tickled Pink preview without a prize! I swear Kellie is the most generous person around. Make sure you pop over to Tickled Pink to see what she is offering.

Well I better be off as I am actually typing this Wednesday morning (being super organised) but now I have to get the kiddies to school and off to work.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, until next time xoxo

Lil Christmas Lad Luca Preview

Welcome to day 2 of the Tickled Pink Lil Christmas previews. Today I am very pleased to introduce you to Lil Luca.Isn't he handsome? The dark side of this image really appeals to me! When I was making this card I could hear Edwards (twilight fan here) voice singing come stand under the mistletoe with me, LOL!

As soon as I saw it I imagined a vintage card and have been hanging out to use it. So I sat down  to make my card and BLOCK comes my way. I really should have got up and done something else but being the stubborn person that I am I had to keep at it. I think I ended up cutting through a few sheets of paper, twisted and turned my card in all angles and directions until I finally came up with an idea. The design of my card ended up being really simple but somehow I think it suits. I have also used the cracked glass effect on my card and think it also suits it well.

I have been inspired by Kellie's cards that have the Lacy/frilly edges and decided to give that a go.

Now of course this would not be a Tickled Pink preview without prizes so be sure to stop by Tickled Pink and see what Kellie has to offer.

The Lil Christmas range will be available from Tickled Pink store next week.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Oooo look what came in the mail on Wednesday....

**this is my second post for today, to see the Tickled Pink Blog Hop please scroll down**

Yep my Christmas Magnolia stamps. I am sooooo in love with these babies and couldn't wait to ink them up. In fact I actually made this card on Thursday but have not had the chance to do my post as yet.

I used an old sketch from Sketch Saturday for this card and have to say it is one that I think I will be using again and again.....

Now this image is one that my son picked, I could not make up my mind as to which ones to buy, so I got my son and daughter to each pick one for me. Have to say I am glad he picked this one as it is so cute and was such great fun to colour. I have just added some really light colouring to the snowman and am happy with the result.

Now I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Just Magnolia - Anything goes with the option of using beads
Bizzy Bec's Monthly Challenge - Cute and Sweet (well I defiantly think the image is cute and sweet)
Little Red Wagon - Use the colour red. It is actually their one year anniversary so Happy Anniversary ladies
Incy Wincy - Anything goes

Anyhow I am now going to get ready to take the kids to the park before the weather changes.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Black and White + 1

**This is my second post for today. To see my post for Tickled Pink Stamps see below**

Phew what a busy cardmaking week I have had. I am not complaining though as I  have really enjoyed making my cards for TPS so far.

This week Kellie has asked us to make a card using Black & White plus one. Well this was not hard for me as one of my favorite colour combos is black and pink and of course it is not hard to add a little white to that.

I made my card and then when bugger did not really leave enough space for a Lolita Lady so decided to go for a head shot and have to say am rapt with the result of my card.

Anyhow I better be off now thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Until next time xoxo

Ingredients
Stamps - Kellita Digi Stamp
Coloured with Copics
Papers - American Crafts (I do collection) and Kaisercraft
Embellishments - Flowers, lace and ribbon
Other elements - paper piercing and hand stitching

I was tickled Pink I got to play with this Cherrie

Today I am bringing you another new image from Tickled Pink Stamps. This is a new Christmas stamp to add the the Cherrie collection.

I had lots of fun making this card and had to force myself to not use the Joyival Papers and go with something bright! I ended up going with a pretty simplistic card but think with the splashes of colour and the sparkle on the ribbon that it was enough.

I based my card on the sketch over at Makeesha Byl's blog.

Now don't forget to stop by TPS Blog to see every ones fantastic creations. Knowing Kellie there is probably an opportunity to win this little cutie.

Anyhow best be off now. Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time xoxo

Phew another Christmas Card done....

As I started to make my Wilfred Wombat card **see my post from earlier today** my husband informed me that I better get a wiggle on with my Christmas cards for this year as he had noticed I had made none!! Thinking that I still had plenty of time I suddenly realised that today was the first of November and really if I want to get my cards out for Christmas I have about 4 weeks to get them done, insert panic, LOL!

The card I have for you today I started last night and I actually had another image to go with it but I was not happy with how it was looking so I put it aside and came back to it today. I have been working on some other projects with it staring me down all afternoon when suddenly a light bulb turned on and I realised I had the perfect image which was already coloured up for it!!

You might be able to just see under I have actually used puff paint for snow which is under her feet and she is mounted on top of. I have also added so glitz to the dress and her leaves. I have also used some more of my favorite paper this Christmas season Joyival from Basic Grey be prepared to see lots of this on my cards.

Not following any challenges this time just all my own.

The image is one of Mo Manning's her images are just beautiful. Love them.

Anyhow that's all from me today thanks for taking the time to stop by, until next time xoxo

Whoo I am guest at Tickled Pink this month

I was so excited a few months ago when Kellie asked if we Lolita Ladies would like to be a guest for the TPS (Tickled Pink Stamps) Blog over the coming months. Well finally my time has come and by golly have we some awesome things to share with you this month.

First of the rank is a gorgeous Christmas digi stamp called Wilfred the Wombat. He is soooo cute and makes such a nice alternative for a Christmas card.

I have used a gatefold card for my card and kept it pretty basic as I thought the image together with the paper (I am so in love with this collection from Basic Grey) were enough. I really wanted to let the image shine though. I have added a little glitter to the edges of my red cardstock and used puff paint on Wilfred's hat and clothes trimmings. The photo does not show this too well though.

I am actually really happy with how this card turned out and think that I may be pumping out a few more for my collection this year.

Anyhow thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Ingredients:
Wilfred the Wombat Digi stamp - will be released soon at Tickled Pink Stamps
Coloured with copic markers - E29, E37, E35, E33, E31, R59, R39, R38, YG 95, YG91, R00
Paper - Baic Grey Joyival collection
Embellishments - red ribbon, red holly balls, paper leaves, kaisercraft rhinestones
Other elements - Stickles (on edging of red cardstock) and faux stitching

New Kelita Birthday Image

How exciting it is this week as we have a new image to play with. In honour of Tickled Pink's Birthday there is a new Kelita and we got to have a play.

I had so much fun making my card today I just sat down and went to work. I have been really struggling with my cards lately, getting the papers to match or colouring, but today it all just seemed to come together. In fact if I had of not got talking to my lovely friend Dee, not that I mind at all love having a good old yarn, I would have got this finished in record time!!

So I decided to use this months sketch at CLP Challenge Blog and had lots of fun with it.

In honour of Tickled Pinks birthday I have used lots of PINK!! I think it suits this card though.

Be sure to pop over to LLB and cheque out every one's AMAZING cards. I love how differently she has been used on each of the cards.

One for fun...

Wow it seems like ages since I got to make a card just for fun and finally this weekend I got a chance to have a play. My hubby and kids went to a car rally on Saturday night so I settled down at my desk and made a card. I have made a very silly promise to myself that I would not buy anymore stamps until I had made a card using each of the ones I have recently purchased. Oh boy how I wish I didn't as there are some fabby new ones out at the moment, may need to break that promise, LOL! Oh well gives me a good reason to sit and play...

I used this weeks sketch from Papertake Weekly and combined it with this weeks challenge at Totally Gorjuss, sparkle. I got this gorgeous stamp from Tickled Pink about a month ago and decided she was perfect for these papers. I decided to keep the card quite basic as the image is so big I wanted the attention to be drawn to that.

I have distressed the edges and inked them with some brown I then added some faux stitching. I am in love with the new magnolia dies and ended up using the end of my vintage tag die to get the border. I am desperately trying to get my hands on the Tilda's Lace, but everywhere seems to be sold out. I have added glitter to the flower and to the sunflowers and wings.

Well I am off to work soon so I better get off the computer and finish getting the cleaning done before I head off.

I hope you have all enjoyed your weekend and if you are in Melbourne are soaking up all this gorgeous sunshine we are having.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Ingredients -
Stamp - Fall Birgitta
Coloured with copics

Its sketch time at Lil Lolita

Wow another week has passed by. it feels like just yesterday that I was writing my post for last weeks challenge. We have had a busy week in the Beekman household with the kids school festival on Sunday. We have been planning it for a year now and it poured all day long!! Never mind though the day was a huge success and everyone had lots of fun which was our main objective. All I can say is thank goodness I have a year until we need to start planning for our 2012 festival.

So onto this weeks challenge....It's a sketch.

I have been wanting to make one of these bookmark holders for a while now so decided to incorporate the sketch into it. I have used the sketch in the middle section of the holder.

Be sure to pop over to LLB and check out everyone's creations I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.

Well that's it for me today. Thanks for stopping by until next time xoxo

Lil Lolita - Skulls Challenge

Good evening everyone, I hope this finds you all well.

So this weeks challenge at LLB is to use Skulls on your project. Once again not being something that I generally use I had to take another trip off to the scrapbooking shop, dam shame that, LOL! Anyhow I managed to be very good and walk away with just a hand few of buttons, I know shock horror! This week I have used the challenge over at Tickled Pink Monthly Sketch Challenges for my card.

This week I got to play with Willow the Ghost. I have been dying, excuse the pun, to ink her up since Kel sent it though. Although I have had no time to practice colouring her up so this is my first attempt, therefore please excuse the less than perfect job.

I am really pleased how my card ended up coming out and had to make up this sentiment as when I was making my card my darling son came up to me and said "oooooooo" but in a really scary spooky voice!

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Lil Haunts come out to play for challenge 18

When Kellie sent through the Lil Haunts that I had to play with I busting at the seams to share them with you. It was so exciting making a card using them as it was something different and by all means something that I have never done before, making a Halloween based card.

I must admit I went into panic mode last week when I realised that I did not have anything that suited a Halloween card at all but was then quietly excited as it meant that I had a good excuse to head of to the local scrapbooking store!!!! Having said that though they did not really have an awful lot but I was happy with the papers I picked anyhow.

Our challenge to you this week is a colour challenge - black, purple and orange. Easy peesy! I cant wait to see what you all come up with, have a slight feeling that all our US friends may trump us all on this challenge!

Oops so busy talking nearly forgot to put my card up! Here it is for some reason though the orange in is A LOT brighter in the photo, I tried all different lights made no difference.

I also used last weeks sketch as I did nto get a chance to do it last week.

You may notice that I will be very quite on the blog front over the next week (and have been for the last week too) but we have our school big festival next weekend and I am on the committee so at the moment all my free time is being spent at doing festival stuff and then on top of that trying to get cards made for my own stall that I am having there on the day. It will be good when it is over with we having been planning since this time last year. I will be popping over looking at LLB but may not have a chance to comment on your creations, please don't be offended.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

LLB - Sketch Challenge

I feel very bad to have to tell you today that I was unable to get my card finished in time for this weeks challenge.

I had all intentions of sitting down yesterday afternoon to make my card but time did not allow and in my mind I thought that's OK can make it Thursday morning, before work, but once again time did not allow ( I have found that with the kids home on holidays they need to come first so if it means sitting down and playing some games and reading with them, well so be it.)

This week Kellie has provided a fantastic sketch which I am just itching to play with. I am hoping that I will get to make it on Saturday when my hubby is watching the rerun of the grand final (he is an avid collingwood supporter and I don't think I can handle sitting with him again watching it especially if they loose!).

Now don't forget to stop by LLB and check out the fabulous cards made by the super talented ladies. Also the lucky winner of Jackie's handmade flowers is listed. Thanks to everyone who joined in with our stitching challenge there was so many fantastic entries.

Now tonight we are kid free, YEAH, so off for some quality time with my hubby.

Thanks for stopping by and as I mentioned I hope to have my card for you on Saturday.

Until next time xoxo

Finally I got to play with my Magnolia's

Yey I am super excited after months of great intentions to use my Magnolia's (especially the lot I have been purchasing) I have finally managed to make a card with one. I love the Magnolia stamps, they were one of the first stamps that drew me away from Stampin Up, but for some reason I always struggle to make a good card with one.

This week at Magnolia Down Under the challenge is to use lace and flowers, well hello that is super easy for me as I LOVE my lace and am becoming more partial to flowers too. I then decided to combine it with this weeks challenge at Just Magnolia which is a sketch by the fabulous Dawny.

I just love this stamp. From the moment I saw it I knew that I had to have it! The papers also I think are just perfect for Magnolia Stamps.

Anyhow I am also entering this into:

Pile it On - Cute and Charming
Little Red Wagon - Glitter
Stamp Scrap and Doodle - Stitches
Charisma Cardz Challenges - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Ingredients:
Stamp by Magnolia coloured with Copics and edged with watercolour crayons
Papers - Jack n Jill Collection from Prima
embellishments - magnolia doohickery flourish, flowers, lace, ribbon, kinder glitz, pearls
Other elements - hand stitching

Its all about the Stitches!

That's right this week the challenge at LLB is Stitches, now that can be real stitching,  faux stitching what ever takes your fancy. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Now this weeks prize has been donated by none other than our Jackie. Be sure to pop over to LLB to see what she has donated and to see our winner and top picks from last weeks challenge.  I wish I could enter for the prize myself!

Now if you know me you would know for me to use stitching is not much of an ask as I always seem to add some into my cards. It feels incomplete when I don't.

Sorry for the short post today but it is school holidays so I am short for time... Hope you are all surviving the holidays I love the lazy mornings spent with the kids.

Don't forget to stop by each of the DT's blogs to take a peek at what else they have been up to and if you get a chance leave them some lovin.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Just for fun...

It seems that over the last week with my daughter being sick I have had lots of time for stamping and as a result I have been able to make some cards just for fun. Although having said that there is never a time that I make a card and it is not fun.

So I was scrolling through Bizzy Becs the other day and found another challenge site - Creatalicious Challenges and immediately put it in my favorites, I am a sucker for challenge sites especially Australian based ones. I then noticed that the current challenge running is a colour challenge being, pink, brown and green and as luck would have it I had a image coloured in pink and green already.

With that decided I picked a sketch being this weeks challenge at Sketch Saturday and off I went and this is what I came up with:

I am pretty chuffed with how this card turned out and just love this image from Whiff of Joy, it is too cute.

Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge 15 - Buttons

Do you ever have a day where does not matter what you do you can just not get your card to work. Well that was me today. I had great visions for my card and that vision included lots of buttons to showcase our challenge this week but in the end I only ended up with a measly 2! Oh well on the upside I got to use my new magnolia doohickeys (yippee arrived in the mail as I was making the card ) and I do still actually like my card!!

That is our challenge to you this week is to use buttons you can use lots, like my fellow DT members, or very little like me! As long as it has buttons on in that is all the matters.

Be sure to pop over to LLB and see if you are our winner from last week and to check out all the other fabulous cards. While you are there clickon the link for details about Tickled Pink's birthday celebrations.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

A few challenges in one

So I set off today to make a card using my magnolia stamp so I could do the fab sketch over at Magnolia Down Under this week. As it turned out I was halfway through and realised that my papers were not going to match my image so I scrapped the idea of making it a magnolia card and used one of my Mo Manning Digital images instead. I then saw that the challenge over at Bizzy Bec's this month is cheerful spring which suited my image perfectly. I had actually coloured this up a few days ago so it made my card a lot quicker to make.

Now this is a bit darker than it is in real life but as luck has it the weather has turned again and there is no sunshine to be seen!

I am also going to enter this card in the following challenges:

-    Stamp Something - Spots & Stripes
-    Totally Gorjuss - flowers

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Ingredients
Stamp - image from Mo's Digital Pencil
Coloured using copic markers
Papers - October Afternoon and black cardstock
Embellishments - flowers and ribbons
Other elements - hand stitching and paper piercing

Papertake Weekly Sketch

It feels like it has been ages since I have got to make a card for a Papertake Weekly challenge so I was excited that this week when I had decided to join I discovered that it was a sketch. There is something about Dawny's sketches that appeal to me.

Last night we celebrated two of my beautiful nieces birthdays. This year Caitlyn is turning 7 and I wanted to make a card for a little girl who is quickly growing up and thought my TGF Tuesday stamp would be perfect. In hindsight maybe the card ended up a little to old for her (perhaps because I used lots of my favorite, black) but she still loved it anyhow. Although she was a little perplexed when she opened it to read that it was blank ( in my haste to get it finished and the present wrapped, I had forgotten to write something inside!)

I am also entering this card into this weeks challenge at Creative Inspirations - Lace and sparkle. Now I promise there is sparkle on this card, you can see a little on the tiara and I also used my shimmer mist on the flowers but as per usual it does not show up in the photo.

Well i better be going we are soon off to mum and dads for our weekly dinner. We have had such a great today mum, my sister and I taking the kids down to the beach so they could ride their scooters on asphalt as they say!!! We live on the hill and there is not much flat asphalted area for the kids to ride their scooters so they relish these sort of days.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time xoxo

Ingredients:
Stamp - The Greeting Farm - Creeper Crew - Tuesday
Coloured with Copic markers
Webster and kaisercraft paper, lace, ribbon, pearls and flowers (sprayed with shimmer mist)
 stitching, distressing and ink smudging
