Playing with the MIC Novmber sketch

Good morning everyone I hope this post finds you well.

Over on Facebook in the Make it Crafty Group we run a monthly sketch challenge. This month I created quite a layered sketch and I hope it has not put everyone off!

What I love about layered sketches like this is that it is as great opportunity to be able to use lots of pretty papers together. I made my card quite bright and have to say this is one of my favourites for a while!

I have used the gorgeous Felicity Stamp which is part of the 60's Girlfriends Collection and you can find her here

If you are wanting to play along with the sketch you find it here. I hope you can find the time to come join us and who knows you could win a MIC Store voucher o a choice of a digi.

Thanks so much for stopping by today I really appreciate it.

Until next time

Some Make It Crafty Inspiration

Good morning everyone....

Fist I just want to say I know I have neglected my blog for a while now but life has been crazy busy and then we went on a much needed family road trip to sunny QLD visiting lots of beautiful places in NSW, including Sydney, and then coming home via Dubbo and visiting the amazing zoo there. Once we got back we had a few days to get back into the swing of things before we all had to head back to school and work. To be honest we all relaxed so much it has been a struggle to get back into it but we are finally getting there!!

Today I am I have a few projects to share.

First here is  my DT inspiration for the Make it Crafty Facebook Group Sketch Challenge.

You can see that I have also used Octobers special $1 digi which you can get at the store here. To get her for $1 just use the code FBDOLLAR at checkout.

Now if you have been hanging out in the Make it Crafty Group Page and reading up the inspiration blog you will see that the colour challenges are back! This month the challenge to you is to create realistic eyes and an added challenge adding in a reflection.....Now I have to say I was trembling as I started to embark on this but after a I got into it I loved it. I know it is not perfect but I am pretty happy with my first attempt.

Coincidentally Zoe released some new portraits this month that are perfect for this challenge, you can find them here

So that is it from me today. Thank you for taking the time to readstop by. I am hoping that things become less crazy in our household and I will get time to get back into my crafting.

Until next time xoxox

Happy Saturday everyone....where ever you are today I hope you get to indulge in a least a little amount of crafting :-)

Today I have my new piece I have coloured however due to grumpy children I have not got to make her into a card yet.

I thought I would share with you at least my colouring of Pipi as I have tried some new colours and done some smooth gradient colouring which will hopefully help prompt you about the current colour challenge over on the Make it Crafty FB Fan page.

Talking about Make it Crafty have you read about the latest DT Call over at Make it Crafty? If not pop here to find out the details?

I also used the skin colouring (except the BV20 as I dont have that)  that was posted by Jen for the Colour of the Day post on FB. I dont know baout you but I have loved the colour of the day posts so quick and handy.

Celebrating Make it Crafty

It’s time for the Make it Crafty to pour a round of drinks at the super special tea party celebrations!

Not only are we celebrating the magical release of Alice in Wonderland, but Make it Crafty has turned 3! All thanks to YOU, the incredible artists and the amazing Make it Crafty team!

Let’s dance around from chair to chair, sipping a drink, eating a cake, shrinking then growing with excitement as you watch the entertainment unfold before your eyes.

Be careful not to miss the hidden words as you’ll need to collect them along the way and string them all together to form a quote. Simply enter the quote at the end of the hop for a chance to win!

Hopefully you’ve found your way from Delphine    but if you’ve just skipped a chair or two you might want to start back at Zoe’s Blog.

Ohh how I just adore this release so much diversity with styles, there is really something for everyone. I was lucky enough to get to play with 2 of the new images Falling Alice and White Rabbit.

Firstly I used the Rabbit and made this birthday card for my card....

I  was trying my hardest to fit a sentiment inn but I think because the card is so big it just got lost or looked out of place so once again a CAS card from me.

Secondly I played with falling Alice......

Isn't she adorable? I made a bookmark for my precious daughter and because it is a bookmark I had to keep it quite clean and not too bulky.I checked with her along the way to make sure it was going to be ok and apparently she just loves it!

The fun doesn’t stop here and if you head over to Elaine's  blog she’ll be sure to treat you with…

Now I know you will be wanting to buy some of these digis so to make it easier for you here is a direct link as to where you can get them.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today and sharing in our tea party. I hope you have enjoyed your visit and enjoy the rest of your they party.

until next time

My latest Make it Crafty creation

Good morning everyone I am here today to share with you my latest MIC Creation...
I generally craft how I am feeling and when I was making this card I was getting blown away!
Lots of heavy winds for my part of the world, up to 125km an hour, when I was making this card so it was fitting...well a little I think she is in a breeze and technically I had howling winds but hey close enough!
That's the great thing about MIC images so much variety you really can have an image for every occasion.
july 10
My card is quite simple but I just love how it turned out. The yellows and greens together worked really well...I think I have found a new favourite combination.
Here is a close up:
july 10 close up
I have used the following products:
MIC PRODUCTS
Summer Breeze Digi also available in rubber
Chippies (no longer available)
I have also coloured my image using the following copics:
the dress - BG78, BG75 & BG72 plus my pencils for some touch ups
The yellow - Y15 and pencils

A little 80's tragic!

Good morning everyone today I am sharing with you my latest Make it Crafty creation.
I had a birthday card to make for a good friend and these Rocker Images are just perfect for male cards.
27 June
I have made it a little 80's tragic  as I can just imagine him in the day rocking away in his hey day!
I kind of imagined the black bits coming off the side of the image as being part of the guitar?
Another clean and simple card from me I just cant seem to do busy cards at the moment.
These images are so much fun to play with and I am sure I will be using them all within good time.
MIC PRODUCTS:
I have used me copics for colouring the image.
That is it from me today. I will be back in a few weeks.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my 80's Tragic Card!!

Monday, 10 June 2013

Good morning everyone I am here today to share with you my latest MIC Creation.
Last year I was caught by surprise when it got the the end of November and I only had a handful of Christmas cards ready.....eeeek I will not do that again so I have started early this year perhaps not as early as I should have but hey I am on better track that last year.  Ask me again in November and I might be doing the yearly freak out!
I loved these Christmas Images Zoe had last year but with leaving things to the last minute I really did not have time to play with them.
So at this stage as I have time, I took on one of the more time consuming images, Girls Carol Singing, and this is what I came up with..

I kept my card very simple as I wanted, like all my MIC cards, to let the image be the feature.
MIC Crafty Products:
I am really sorry I would normally list the copics I used but I have thrown out my list that I had written them on.
Public Holiday here is Melbourne today so I am enjoying the lazy morning here.....now to sit by the fire and do some more colouring. .
Thank you for taking the time to read my post today. Big Hugs

Using Urban Elements from Make it Crafty

Hi everyone I'm here today to show you a boys birthday cad I have created using mainly the different urban elements collections and  racing Rick from Make it Crafty.

I don't know about you but I really struggle making cards for boys, I don't know if it is because you just cant go adding lots of pretty embellishments? Anyhow I have always been a big fan of the Urban Elements so I thought it was about time I used them and challenged myself  and this is what I came up with....
urban elemtns

I let all the elements be the "feature" of the card....Racing Rick has been foam mounted and so has the car so they pop from the page. I have to say I had so much fun making this card and just loved that Racing Rick reminded me of my son with his hair in his eyes!
I used a piece of designer paper I had cutting out the letters to create my sentiment. Added a bit of distressing and faux stitching and whola I had a boys card!
I would normally list the copics I have used but I used so many the list would just be huge!

Magnolia Down Under Challenges - Sketch

Good morning ladies and maybe even gentleman! Sorry warped humour already!!!!

Today it is Sunday which means we have a new challenge for you play along with at Magnolia Down Under Challenges and this week we have a gorgeous sketch to inspire you.

Tomorrow is my baby girls 11th Birthday, feels like just yesterday she was born I cant believe she is already 11. I am scared to think how quick the next 11 years will go!

So when I sat down to make my card I knew that I had to use one of her favourite Tilda's, pink paper and of course an Owl...she is just Owl crazy....I am working on an owl project for Make it Crafty and cant wait to get it finished to show you...ok back to this weeks card joining all those elements together and this is what I came up with......

and here is the sketch:

I got one tag and then used more gems to create the bubbles and put this where the second tag is on the sketch. Quite a basic as in Clean and Simple card, but I am liking that style at the moment and I have also found that I just don't have the time to sit there pushing embellishments around for hours trying to make it not look like someone has vomited all over my card!

I played with some different colours with my copics this week and have to say I like the effect. I also had fun drawing some grass and then painting some flowers on it.

I know I say this every week but you rally must pop by the main blog and check out the inspiration  We have Lillemor joining us for the first time and then of course our regulars have just rocked this challenge. As I was scrolling down to add my card I kept going oooo ahhhhh! Of course you will also see the Live & Love Crafts are our sponsor this week.

So that's it from me today. I will be back in a few days. Off to my little man's footy match soon.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time

We are going Green at MDUC this week

Good morning everyone I am hoping this post finds you well.

This week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges we are going green...That's right we want to recycle!
I just knew last year that when I received a present from my sister with a tag on it from one of my favourite shops that I would get the chance to reuse it. It has taken a while for the opportunity to arise but now it has I love the transformation. It is pretty basic I must admit but I am really liking clean simplified projects at the moment.

So here is the tag as I got it:

and here is my tag:

You can see that I also reused some cardboard too.

I was shuffling through my Magnolia's looking for one to use and then I saw this one. Aww the memories this was about the 3rd Magnolia stamp I ever brought and I have to say I loved bringing her out for a play.

No I know we have a great sponsor this week so pop over to MDUC and check it out and of course all the other samples of recycling there.

That's it from me today, thanks for stopping by, until next time

Sealed with a Kiss from Make it Crafty

Good afternoon, today I am here to share with you my latest Make it Crafty card.
This week our challenge was Wonderland and I have to admit that I struggled with it for a while.
I am not sure if it because I have been sick lately and my brain could not be creative so I opted for an easer option of using one of the gorgeous fairytale images...My toughest decision was which one to use!
I decided to make it really girlie and use my latest colour combo of copics.
Ok enough rambling here it is..
wonderland

You can see that I have kept my card quite basic and just allowed the gorgeous image to shine.
The papers are also quite busy helping with my decision to go CAS. I am not sure in the end result (I think I don't like the bow) but my 10 year old daughter thinks it is gorgeous so it obviously appeals to the younger mind.
Make it Crafty Supplies:
Sealed with a kiss digi from the fairytale collection
Copics:
Dress - BV17, BV13 & BV02, R83, R20 & R00
Hair - E99, YR24, YR20
So that is it for me today. I hope you have enjoyed my card and that I may have inspired you to go use one of these gorgeous Fairytale images.
Thanks for taking the time to have  a look. Until next time....

Tic-Tac-Toe at Magnolia Down Under Challenges

Good morning everyone....I know it has been a long time between posts but life has been crazy here in the Beekman household.  I can never craft well if I know I have a list f things to do so it was a real pleasure to sit down and make this card as I had free time to do it.

This week at Magnolia Down Under we have a tic-tac-toe card for your to play along with. So let me share with you the card I have mad........

Sorry photo a little dull....

and here is our tic-tac-toe card

Yep I used the middle line, chipboard, sentiment & 3 or more layers and I may have added a few extra in too!

Dont you  just love the gorgeous chipboard's I have used from Make it Crafty. Boy I love Zoe's chippies they seem to be the first thing I go to for embellishments these days. I just loved the paper too so pretty...

I used the awesome sketch over at The Sketchy Challenges for my card, I love the sketches the ladies but so rarely get  to play along so happy this time I could!
I am also going to enter my card into:
Magnolia-licious Challenges - Spring Blossoms. I have even painted some blooms around Tilda in the grass
Tilda' Town - F&F and U&E

Now before I really urge you to go over to Magnolia Down Under and check out the amazing creations....Some have even managed a full house, could you do that?! Oh yeah and dont forget to check out our awesome sponsor this week.

Grey Monochrome with one colour

Morning all I hope I am here today to share with you my card I did for my MIC Weekly Inspiration Post.
Our inspiration for you this week is CAS (Clean and Simple) with an additional colour challenge being Grey Monochrome with one colour.
This was a great challenge and strongly suggest you all challenge yourself to try this out.
I choose to use Flying Balloon Contraption as I felt using the monochrome would suit this image giving it a real vintage feel.
monochromatic
You can see I obviously choose to use red as my additional colour I think it pops against the greys.
I really enjoyed doing a CAS card especially with this image as it just allows it to be the focus.
I used lots of grey copics for this choosing to blend the warm grey's with cool grey's and am pretty happy with the end result :-)
Copics used:
W1, W3, W5, C1, C3, C5, C7 & C9
R24 & R14
MIC Products:

So I hope you have enjoyed my card and hopefully I have inspired you! I look forward to seeing some of you Monochrome projects.

I am going to enter this into Debbie Dolphins candy challenge. I don't normally enter candy/giveaways but I really liked how Debbie was doing this one.  I'm hoping she will enjoy something other than a Maggie creation from me! Make sure you pop over to her blog and check out the details.

Thank you for visiting my post today.
Happy crafting x

Happy 4th Birthday MDUC

Good morning all I hope you have having a lovely weekend. It is long weekend for us here and yesterday we spent the day and evening down at the beach with my family water skiing. Was such a wonderful day and a great way to to cool down from all this heat we have here. Boy I am looking forward to it being over.

So this week we celebrate the 4th Birthday of Magnolia Down Under Challenges. I have been on this team for two going on three years now and I can honestly say it is an absolute delight being on a team with these ladies. Not only do we talk craft we talk about everything and I know that no matter what time of day or night it is that I can put a call out for help and somewhere will be there to listen. Thank you ladies for being so wonderful and a very big happy birthday to us!

With every birthday celebration there is a party and party is complete without a party hat, so that is what I decided to make.

A pretty simple design but its a party hat so you cant really go adding lots of embellishments as it would make it too heavy and really not enough room to do that.

My first attempt at no line colouring and have to say I am happy with the result. Loving my new purple copics I got the other week.

After a slow start from me this morning I better get my bum into gear.

WE have a wonderful sponsor at MDUC this week pop over to the blog and check it out along with the other birthday projects on display. I look forward to seeing you entries.

Thanks for stopping by today, until next time
